Privacy Policy
Baton is a Chrome extension that moves a conversation between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
Summary
Baton keeps everything on your device. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. It does not send your conversations anywhere, and it never sells or shares your data.
What Baton does with your data
Export and Copy. When you click Export or Copy, Baton reads the conversation shown on the ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini page you are viewing. It scrolls the chat to load older messages, then returns the page to where it was. It turns the conversation into Markdown text, which is saved as a file where you choose or placed on your clipboard.
Import. When you click Import, Baton reads the file or text you choose, shows you a summary of it, and, if you click Insert, places it in the chat box on the current page. Baton never presses Send for you.
Copy diagnostics. If you click this button, Baton copies a description of the page layout (tag, attribute and class names) to your clipboard so a problem can be fixed. It contains no conversation text.
What Baton stores
Two small interface preferences in Chrome's local extension storage on your device: whether exports are "Full chat" or "Short version", and whether the Baton panel is minimised.
Baton does not store your conversations. Exported files are ordinary files that belong to you.
What Baton never does
Baton makes no network requests of its own. It does not collect, transmit, sell, rent or share personal information, and it uses no analytics, advertising, cookies or trackers. It does not run code loaded from the internet.

Access to chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai and gemini.google.com: to show the Baton panel, read the open conversation when you click Export or Copy, and insert imported text into the chat box when you click Insert. Baton does nothing on these pages until you click.
Other services
What you paste or insert into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other service is handled by that service under its own privacy policy. Baton is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.
Your choices
You can delete exported files at any time. Uninstalling Baton removes its stored preferences. Nothing is held anywhere else, so there is nothing further to delete.
Children
Baton is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
